Providence HSS, Kozhikode and St Ephrems HSS Mannanam, Kottayam, clinched the inter-school basketball titles of the Kristu Jyoti St Chavara Trophy in Changanacherry.

Providence emerged champions in the women's category with a narrow 75-71 win over PSGR Krishnammal Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore. Arthika K top-scored with 25 points for Providence, while T Sephora made 24 for the Coimbatore side.

In the boys' final, St Ephrems defeated Velammal International School, Chennai, 100-81, with Millan Mathew scoring 36 points for the Kottayam side. Khushal Singh made 34 points for the Chennai team.

Millan of St Ephrems and Arthika of Providence won the Best Player awards, while Ameya Rajeev and Christin Itty Kurian, both from Kristu Jyoti, were adjudged the Promising Players.
