Inter-school basketball: St Ephrem’s clinch Christ Challenge Trophy

St Ephrem’s HSS Mannanam clinched the 10th Christ Challenge Trophy inter-school basketball tournament organised by Christ Central School in Thiruvalla.
In the final, St Ephrem's defeated Government VHSS, Kunnamkulam, 79-59. Millan Jose Mathew top-scored with 21 points and was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament.
In the semifinals, the Kunnamkulam school had defeated Girideepam Bethany, Kottayam, 48-26, while St Ephrem's drubbed AKM Public School, Changanacherry, 66-36.
Result (final): St Ephrem’s 79 (Millan Jose Mathew 21, Gautham 13, Abhijith 12) bt GVHSS, Kunnamkulam 59 (Asray 15, Adwid 12)
