Kerala's Sabarinath V S and Karan Thapa were among the winners of qualifying matches of the National Ranking Tennis Tournament for the Naushad Mather Memorial Trophy in Kochi on Saturday.

Sabarinath defeated Shrikanth C Menon 6-0, 6-2, while Thapa got the better of Shrinath C Menon 6-1, 6-1. The main draw will begin on Monday.

The eight-day event, jointly organised by the Ernakulam District Tennis Association and the Kerala Tennis Association, is held across three venues in Kochi.
