Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri were knocked out in the third round of the French Open, ending India's campaign in Paris.

Bopanna and his Czech partner Adam Pavlasek lost a hard-fought game 2-6 6-7(5) against second seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten. Bhambri and his American partner Robert Galloway lost 4-6 4-6 to ninth seeds Christian Harrison and Evan King.

Bopanna, 45, won the French Open mixed doubles title in 2017, partnering Canadia Gabriela Dabrowski. Last year, he won the Australian Open men's doubles title with Matthew Ebden of Australia.

Bhambri and Galloway defeated seventh seed Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus in the second round. Bhambri won the junior title in the 2009 Australian Open. India’s N Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Bolipalli exited the tournament early.

In the Junior category, exciting young Indian Manas Dhamne bowed out of the boys' singles event, losing 5-7 3-6 to American qualifier Ronit Karki. The 17-year-old Dhamne had entered the main draw as a qualifier.
