'Idam' exhibition consists of 200 works of art created by 34 contemporary artists, including 16 women artists.
The fifth edition of the international arts festival was inaugurated in Kochi on Monday.
Themed ‘In our veins flow ink and fire’, the biennale is to showcase more than 200 main artworks of 90 artists from about 40 different countries, across the 14 venues.

The DBF-KMB Award is a multi-year exhibition and lecture programme that brings together the Hayward Gallery, the Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation and the Kochi Biennale Foundation.
Renowned artist Bose Krishnamachari, who is also curator of the event and president of Biennale Foundation, won the award for the ‘Curator of the Year’.
Continuing the fair's enduring relationship with the region's pioneering institutions, the forthcoming edition will see participation from Kochi Biennale Foundation, Chennai Photo Biennale and Serendipity Arts Foundation, among others.
According to Kochi Biennale Foundation Chairman Bose Krishnamachari, it was a rare honour indeed for Hisham.
The ‘Lokame Tharavadu’ show features works of 56 women artists, some of them virtually unknown.
