Mussoorie, known as the 'Queen of Hills', is decked with the splendours of nature. This charming hill station, which is a small town in Dehradun district in Uttarakhand, is a desired destination of tourists, including honeymooners. One can get a mesmerizing view of both the Sivalik mountain ranges and the Doon Valley from Mussoorie, which is in the foothills of the Himalayan range.

Mussoorie is a major tourist spot that is situated 2,000m above sea level. The Mother Nature has prepared an eclectic feast for travellers visiting these charming hills. Travel on the Camel Back Road if you want to soak in the grace and elegance of the mountains. The Kempty waterfalls, Lake Mist, the municipal garden with a whole array of flowers, the fascinating sunset, Mussoorie Lake and Bhatta waterfall will take your breath away. It is said that the Britishers developed Mussoorie as a holiday resort to escape the humidity and heat of the plains. Mussoorie is the most popular destination among people to spend their holidays.

Though one can visit Mussoorie at any time of the year, the best time to enjoy the beauty of this awesome hill station is from September to June. The monsoon season is from July to August. Reaching Mussoorie is easy as there are bus services connecting the hill station with Delhi and other north Indian cities. One can reach Dehradun by air and rail and from there Mussoorie is 34km away.

The Gun Hill is a major tourist spot from where one can see the ethereal snow-capped Himalayas. From the Gun Hill one can also get a bird’s eye view of The Mall, the main shopping centre of Mussoorie. There are ropeway facilities to reach the Gun Hill from the road.

The delightful Kempty waterfall, which is 1,364m above sea level, is 17km away from the town centre. There is also a small resort, where one could stay overnight, near the waterfall. Lake Mist, a prominent tourist centre, is situated 5km before the Kempty waterfall.

The Municipal Garden, which is replete with flowers of all hues, is located 2km away from Mussoorie, and the sunset view from the garden is truly amazing.

Another major attraction of the hill station is the Mussoorie Lake. The lake is on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road and located 6km before Mussoorie. Boating in the lake is out of the world.
