Amruth talks to manoramaonline about her love for travel and her favourite destinations.

Singing on a street in Tanzania

“Though I have travelled to many countries, it was Tanzania which gifted me many precious memories. I reached there as part of a show. The minds of the people in Tansania are as beautiful as the place itself. Initially, I was a bit scared to visit an African country. But I must say that the people are really warm and friendly. It is with so much love that they behave and talk. I am very eager to learn about the indigenous music of the places that I visit,” says Amrutha.

She shares an interesting episode from her Tansanian sojourn. “I saw many people who sold vivid and colourful trinkets on the streets of Tansania. When they came to know that I am a singer, they asked me to sing for them. I sang few folk songs, and they too joined in. Those moments were really endearing.” Amrutha, who spent three days in Tansania, vouches that those were the happiest. The Tansanian trip has in fact ignited a special interest in her to visit more African nations. Amrutha vows that her next trip would be to Uganda.

Dubai, the desert paradise

Dubai is one of the countries which Amritha has travelled to the most number of times. The Middle Eastern Emirate, which boasts of magnificent architectural wonders and impeccable city planning, truly conquers the hearts of visitors. “Though it is the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai fountain that attract lots of tourists, the thrilling desert safari and the enchanting belly dance are really amazing,” says an excited Amrutha.

“Dubai is a treasure house of amazing sights. Even though we call it a desert, the truth is that it has several magnificent things which attract travellers from all over the world. Dubai has everything in store to excite every visitor, be it an adventure enthusiast or a little kid. I have been to most of the places there as I travel to Dubai at least four times a year,” says Amrutha.

She adds that Dubai, which offers new and exciting sights every time she visits, is truly one of her favourite destinations.

Snowy Switzerland and amazing USA

Amrutha says that among her recent trips, the one to Switzerland has been the most incredible. It was at this European country that the singer experienced snowfall for the first time in her life. She says, “I was thrilled to experience the snow and the cold. Snow would even falls on your eye lashes. I can definitely say that this Swiss trip was the most beautiful one.”

“I have been to USA quite a few time as part of various shows. The country is a store house of thrilling sights. I was really excited to see all those places in America which I had only heard about in the past,” Amrutha says about her unforgettable American trip.

Kochi never changes

Amrutha says that though she has visited many places, Kochi, her home town, has always been her favourite. She adds that Kochi never changes a bit, and that it always exudes an enchanting old charm. “I can’t explain the beauty of Kochi, which is known as the ‘Goa of Kerala’, in simple words. It is indeed the serene banks of backwaters that make Kochi beautiful and charming. A boat journey through the beautiful lakes and a rendezvous with the Arabian Sea is truly enchanting,” says Amrutha, confessesing her love for Kochi.
