Actress Lena has always loved to travel, especially solo. Taking a break from her film assignments, Lena was on a two-month trip to Nepal recently.

Lena, who loved the peace prevailing all over the Himalayan country, has shared photos and videos of her visits to almost all major towns and tourist destinations there on Instagram. The talented actress relates her Nepal adventure:

“Solo travel gives you an opportunity for introspection. My trip to Nepal was without any major planning. It was a 50-day affair all alone. On each day of the trip I decided which places to visit.”

“You feel at peace in Nepal, which offers unspoilt water and air as well as unadulterated food. Moreover, the stunning views of Himalayas are the biggest attraction. People of Nepal have ever-smiling faces. There is no hustle and bustle even on city streets. Nepalis enjoy an unhurried life.”

Lena says her most exciting trip was the trek to Annapurna range. She visited Thorong La Pass, which is 5,640 ft above sea level. She also took part in paragliding. Lena says she felt like a feather floating in the cool breeze. The river and trees looked like tiny spots and the mountain range towered in the distance.

“Climbing the mountains in search of honey along with the local people was another interesting experience. The honey gatherers collect honey from rock crevices without disturbing the bees,” she says.

Lena feels that Nepal is much different from eastern Himalayas. There, one will be in deep trouble if stranded. But in Nepal, all places are connected with good transport facilities. Moreover, it is a woman-friendly country and the people too are helpful.

Lena’s Nepal trip had a spiritual side also. Being part of the busy film industry and an acting job, her life has become mechanical. She has visited several foreign countries as part of film shooting. But that is a different experience. She ventured out when she realised that she needed a break. “Immediately, I booked a ticket and set out on a journey. Such trips are a means to rejuvenate my life and return to work replenished. There are more places to visit; next is Norway,” says the actress.
