Vineeth Sreenivasan is a multi-talented film personality who has proved his mettle as a singer, actor, director, and writer. Now taking a break after the film 'Aravindante Adhithikal,' Vineeth is travelling to far-off corners of the globe along with his wife Divya and son Vihaan.
Now they are in Finland. Vineeth has shared pictures of himself having a good time in Helsinki on Instagram with the comment, 'First time in Helsinki.'
Land of thousand lakes
Helsinki, on the banks of the Baltic Sea, is Finland's capital and also its biggest city. Main attractions there include Helsinki Cathedral and other churches, the port and an island named Suomenlinna.
Rated among the cleanest and most beautiful cities on earth, even the rivers and the sea are unpolluted at Helsinki. Another peculiarity is the absence of sound pollution too. The streets of the city are marked by silence even though there is traffic, as vehicles sound horn only when it is absolutely necessary.
Finland has several features which make it distinct from other countries. Located in northern Europe, it is also termed the land of a thousand lakes. Geo surveys have found that there are, in fact, around two lakh lakes in the country.
The climate in Finland is extreme during winter. The topography is marked by small hills and thickly wooded areas. There are several valleys and hills without tall trees. Another interesting fact is that there are no tall mountains in the country. The scenery everywhere in Finland is picturesque.
Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany
Some months ago, Vineeth was on a similar European trip with Divya and Vihaan. They travelled to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Vineeth says he loves travelling with family and ensures that his wife and son accompany him during long journeys.
Even while visiting several interesting locales, Vineeth had thoughtfully shared photos of his travels on social media. One photo showed him in front of the Cologne Cathedral with the remarks, “Cologne!! The last time I was in this city was in 1999. This is the first place I saw in Europe. And behind me is the biggest Cathedral I have ever seen in my life... :)”
The work on Cologne Cathedral is believed to have started in 1248. What is peculiar about this spiritual place is that the construction is yet to be completed. The towers of the cathedral are 515 ft. tall and the 15-ft. high altar is built with black marble.
The holy relics of several saints are preserved at the cathedral, which also displays numerous stunning pieces of art. The huge church bells are the other attraction. No visitor would leave the cathedral without a sense of awe.
The cathedral has also been included in UNESCO's list of world heritage sites.
Vineeth loves travelling and has several more plans to visit new locales. The wonders of the world never cease to amaze the versatile film personality.
