Everybody calls her Lillikkutty, but the real name of this popular TV and film star is Stephy Leon. She became a favourite of the Malayalam TV audience thanks to her excellent performance in the serial 'Arayannangalude veedu'.
Stephy has already proved her talents in acting as well as dialogue delivery. She is also a trained dancer and an experienced presenter of shows. Having debuted on the big screen, Stephy is now having a busy time on the small screen.
When she finds free time, the celebrity prefers to travel with her life partner Leon. “We head to some destination in this wide world where we both can enjoy some solitude,” says Stephy.
During every break in their hectic work schedule, Stephy and Leon get ready for a trip. “However, planned journeys are often not possible. Suppose we have two or three free days, we plan a trip to Velankanni or Mookambika. On all other occasions, we decide on a destination on the spur of the moment. But I am happy to travel anywhere with Leon,” explains the actress.
After trips with Leon, Stephy prefers journeys along with all the family members. “The group would include apart from me and Leon our parents too,” she says.
Another group trip Stephy eagerly looks forward is along with close friends. “Both these trips - with family as well as friends - are great fun-filled affairs,” she reveals.
“In fact, it is travelling that makes life colourful,” she feels.
Magnificent Malaysia
Among the trips abroad, Stephy’s favourites have been the tours to Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Dubai. “Malaysia is an ideal destination for pleasure and entertainment. There are several amazing attractions there,” says Stephy.
A traveller can have a great time without burning a hole in the pocket if care is taken while spending money in Malaysia, adds the actress. “The night view of Petronas Tower was stunning. But it was the time spent at the shopping malls that I enjoyed the most in Malaysia,” according to her.
The attractions in Malaysia are not confined to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur alone. “Other great places like Malacca, Penang, Langkawi and Kuching present a feast for travellers,” points out Stephy.
Thrilling Thailand
Stephy was swept off her feet during her trip to Thailand too. “The country is a safe place for family tours even though it is infamous for sex tourism. Visitors can have a great time enjoying the beautiful beaches, temples, eateries, forests and nightlife,” says the star.
The sights in Thailand are fabulous, but the natural scenery of the place closely resembles Kerala, felt Stephy. “I enjoyed every moment in Thailand, a country with streets that never sleep, where music is played non-stop and everybody love to dance. Moreover, the scenic beaches and cities throbbing with life offered many thrills. The food too was terrific,” recalls the actress.
Dazzling Dubai
Dubai is among the top favourites of Stephy. “I love the place for the Burj Khalifa, Palm Beaches and shopping malls. Miracle Garden, Burj Khalifa and Dolphinarium are all stupendous sights. But I felt Dubai was more beautiful at night than during the day. It is a place where symbols of wealth glitter everywhere,” says the celebrity.
Gripping Goa
Yet another journey that Stephy enjoyed to the hilt with Leon was to Goa. “There were only the two of us and we travelled by road in our own vehicle. The trip was in connection with the film festival there, but we turned it into a big celebration. Nothing will hold you back in having fun on the beaches of Goa,” she says.
While returning to Kerala from there, Stephy and Leon visited Murudeshwar and Mookambika.
Misty Munnar
In Kerala, the actress cites Munnar as her preferred destination. “There is no other place as beautiful as Munnar in the state. Every trip to the hill station with its mist and cold weather is exciting. In Munnar, my favourite spot is Pattumala. It lies on the Kuttikkanam - Thekkady route and the highlight of the place is a shrine to the Holy Mother. I spend considerable time at this church and never feel like leaving. It is indeed a gift of nature,” says Stephy.
Moreover, the architecture of the church, built with granite on a hilltop, is striking, she adds. “Visiting the holy spot gives you a heavenly feeling,” elaborates the star.
Dream destination
Now Leon has promised Stephy a trip to Switzerland, her dream destination. “I have loved watching the photos and videos of the stunningly beautiful country. Now I want to experience it all at first hand and am eagerly looking forward to that journey,” winds up the celebrity.
