European beauty Scotland has long list of attractions. A visitor may have to spend several days to enjoy all that the destination has to offer, even though Scotland is small place by area.

It is this scenic country with neat cities, charming islands, picturesque mountains, stunning valleys and palatial buildings that was the latest travel destination of actress and singer Rimi Tomy.

As usual, Rimi has shared photos of the Scotland trip on Instagram. Along with the Scotland photos are the snaps clicked during Rimi's earlier journey to Meghalaya.

Scotland, a favourite of not only celebrities but also travel lovers, is a dream destination for many people. With so many things to do and places to visit, proper planning in advance would help travellers to the country save time and money.

A country which is part of the United Kingdom, Scotland has a rich history and travellers can visit a number of castles and museums which highlight this past. Moreover, the country offers adventure activities such as boat trips, kayaking, mountaineering and skiing.

Major tourist attractions include Edinburgh castle, Royal and ancient golf club of the St Andrews, Cairngorms national park, Luskentyre beach, Isle of Arran, Museum of Scottish Lighthouses, Sterling castle, Ben Nevis, Torridon, Rosslyn chapel, Loch Lomond and Buachaille Etive Mor.

An interesting aspect of the country is that the scenery changes dramatically during each season. However, many travellers ignore the weather and reach Scotland to take part in some popular festivals.

The ideal seasons to tour the country are from April to May, when the summer sets in and from late August to November, during autumn. If the purpose of the visit is to observe wildlife, the suitable time is from August to November.

This is also the period when the trees and leaves change hues. But budget travellers may avoid a trip during August as the air fares and hotel tariff would be high, in view of the festival season in Scotland.
