Alina Padikkal is flying high as an anchor and actress. And one striking trait that endeared Alina to her audience is the boldness to speak her mind. Besides acting, Alina, who had hit the screens by anchoring a programme for children, loves travelling.

Presently, Alina is happy to stay indoors because of the coronavirus crisis but also a tad dejected as the popular television reality show, in which she was a participant, was called off due to the pandemic.

Travel plans go for a toss

"I had planned many trips with my friends but the lockdown restrictions had poured cold water on the plans. We had plans to go to Gokarna in Karnataka as I love beaches. But everything had to be shelved," Alina says.

Alina likes to go on a journey when boredom strikes her as she believes that travelling helps in rejuvenating the body and mind.

"I live in Bengaluru. My friend is getting married in August, and we had planned a get-together in some other place. But that won't be possible considering the prevailing situation. We are now eyeing to party in Bengaluru itself, but worried whether everything will go according to the plans," she adds.

Even if the lockdown curbs are eased, there would be lot of restrictions relating to travel, and most of the tourist spots won't open their gates in the immediate future. So everyone is keeping fingers crossed, notes Alina, who has plans to start a vlog on all future tours. She will be embarking on some interesting trips after the coronavirus subsides completely.

Most travellers who catch a bus, aircraft, or train, sleep till they reach their destination. Travelling with such people is quite bland for this actress. Alina loves to travel in her car so that she can know more about places on the way.

Travelling has given Alina some riveting moments. Once she decided to drive from Bengaluru to Chennai. At that time she didn't have GPS on her phone and she wasn't sure of the route. Alina came to know that she was taking the wrong road when she enquired about directions to Chennai at a toll booth. The staff told her that the road leads to Coimbatore and advised her to drive back to take the connecting road to Chennai.

Alina got lost again as she took the road to Hyderabad. Later, she noticed a Tamil Nadu registration car, which was heading to Chennai, ahead and followed that vehicle all the way to Chennai. This was absolutely a new experience for her. When her mother came to know about the whole episode, she gave Alina a dressing down.
