Actress-singer Aparna Balamurali on her dream destination

Aparna Balamurali has charmed Malayali moviegoers with her incredible performances like Jimsy in 'Maheshinte Prathikaram' and Anu in 'Sunday Holiday.' However, not many know that the young actress is a well-known singer as well. Aparna has been lucky enough to travel quite a bit as part of filming and with her family and friends as well. She loves to talk about her favourite travel experiences and her dream destination.

Dream city

Like any traveller, Aparna Balamurali's dream is to visit the iconic New York City. Though she has been to New York once, she says she couldn't roam around and enjoy the city to her heart's content. Aparna wishes to visit New York City once again, to walk through the vibrant streets, and enjoy the mesmerizing sights at her dream destination.

Though Aparna has been on a few exciting trips, she confesses she hasn't gone for any major journeys. She has visited many places from college and also for shooting and programs. Aparna is thrilled that she could visit places like Switzerland and New York to perform in shows. "Not just outside India, but I haven't been to too many places in India either. However, I really enjoyed the New York trip. I was part of a program tour. I was excited to visit the legendary city that I had only heard about until then. Singer Sayonara, too, was part of the group and it was she who took care of me.

One night we got some free time after the program and we decided to go outside even though it was pretty late. It is amazing to see New York City at night. Every city has two lives; the night life there is a unique experience. I couldn't visit too many places there as we didn't have time. I wish to go there once again and enjoy the city without being bothered about time," says Aparna.

Wayanad and Idukki

The movie Maheshinte Prathikaram is also the tale of the beautiful countryside of Idukki. Aparna who had stayed in the district for almost two months for the filming says she has a special love for Idukki in her heart. When they weren't filming, Aparna enjoyed visiting the nearby places. "Idukki boasts of a unique serenity which is impeccable. I have also been to Kantalloor for the filming of Oru Muthassi Gadha. It truly is a mesmerizing place. Moreover, I really like visiting the high ranges. Wayanad is another place that I really love. I have been to Wayanad once with my family. It is one place I would like to go again," says Aparna.

Sunrise at Nandi Hills

Aparna really enjoyed the trip to Nandi Hills though it was part of filming of the movie 'BTech.' In the movie, Aparna and her friends are seen enjoying a bike ride to see the sunrise at Nandi Hills. "As we had to shoot the journey itself, I was on a bike for the entire time. It was for the first time that I went for a bike trip to the hills. All of us really enjoyed that trip. We began our journey at 3 in the morning. It was freezing cold. However, we forgot about the chilly weather when we saw the beautiful sunrise," recalls the actress.

Aparna is charmed by the infectious energy and spirit of the Bengaluru city. She even enjoys the hectic life and busy roads here. She would love to visit Bengaluru whenever she can. Aparna says she really misses her friends and their short drives during the lockdown. Aparna's biggest dream is to see the snow and she promises herself that she would go on a trip just to enjoy the mesmerizing snow.
