Poornima relives honeymoon trip to Rajasthan on social media

Taking a walk down the memory lane, Malayalam actress and TV host Poornima shared a throwback picture of her honeymoon tour with actor-husband Indrajith to Rajasthan. The snap posted on Instagram comes with a 'cringe warning' - better to term it a school excursion rather than a honeymoon.

Both look quite young as Poornima has the girl next door demeanour in a red and black churidhar and Indrajith is clad in T-shirt and jeans in the picture. Poornima, who is also a fashion designer, has posted a message saying that she couldn’t take her eyes off their outfits and footwear. “We in matching colours are giving me goose bumps,” she adds.

“Apart from the Rajasthan snaps, we also have pictures of us running in Jantar Mantar, looking at the scorching sun with the rose garden in the backdrop. All the ones you can think of, in those mandatory poses to make sure we have had a good honeymoon,” Poornima writes.

Rajasthan, which is the largest state in India, is the favourite travel destination of many, including celebrities. The perception about Rajasthan is that it is a vast desert, but this far from truth. A journey through the land of the Rajputs can help in knowing the rich history and culture of India. Every hill, lake and fort, which is a confluence of Rajput and Mughal traditions, has a different story to tell.

Apart from the aesthetically designed forts and other palatial buildings that throw light on a rich and resplendent bygone era, Rajasthan is synonymous with Thar Desert, the largest desert in India. Mount Abu, a hill station in the Aravalli mountain range which is one of the oldest in the world, is another attraction in Rajasthan.
