Giant Sequoias at Yosemite charm Rima and Parvathy

Regular travellers, actresses Rima Kallingal and Parvathy often post pictures of their trips on social media. Rima has recently been sharing photos from her visits to Spain, Africa and Switzerland with fans. Parvathy, too, followed with pictures of her journey to California with Rima on Instagram.

The latest photos shared by Rima are from Yosemite National Park in California which is well-known for the Giant Sequoia trees. Parvathy also joined her for the trip. A picture shows the celebrities posing in front of a square-shaped passage cut on the trunk of a Giant Sequoia. Parvathy has commented below the photo that she and Rima had clicked it after a tiresome trek.

Yosemite attracts travellers with its thousands of lakes, Yosemite waterfall, which is the highest in North America, several streams, rivers, mountains, and forests with rich biodiversity. The national park has found a place on the list of UNESCO's world heritage site and is home to Giant Sequoia, the world's biggest tree.

In fact, over 90 per cent of the Yosemite National Park area is covered with forest. The area is located in the central part of Sierra Nevada mountains in California, USA. An area of amazing natural beauty, Yosemite is a favourite of nature lovers, artists and photographers. A valley covered with pine forests and granite hills, Yosemite has several adventure spots like El Capitan, a massive rock summit which is 3,000 metres tall.

Open around the year, Yosemite National park offers a host of activities for visitors, including nature walk, photography, art classes, stargazing programmes, hiking tours, biking, rafting, horse riding, and more.

The national park has appeared in a number of movies and television serials – blockbusters such as 'Star Trek' are among them.
