Actress Mamta Mohandas is at her vivacious best in a photo snapped at the Big Sur tunnel at California in the US. The actress shared the photo on Instagram with a thought-provoking note in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This is a picture I had taken in the first week of January. Little did I know that I (we were) was standing at the edge of a year that'd seem like a long unending and uncertain tunnel. Being the optimistic person that I've always chosen to be, I believe that there will be a light waiting to shine on us at the end of this one…I miss the summers, I miss the winters and I miss all the seasons in our lives," she writes.

Mamta made her entry in Malayalam filmdom through Hariharan directed movie 'Mayookham,' which was released in 2005, and since then she had been a much sought-after actress in Mollywood. The 35-year-old actress, who has won numerous accolades in her career, is currently based in California.

Big Sur, a rugged and mountainous region that lies between Carmel Highlands and San Simeon on the central coast, is one of the main tourist spots of California. The travellers flock to this place to enjoy the pristine beauty of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Lucia mountain range, and natural scenery. This picturesque coast is considered as the longest stretch of undeveloped coastlines in the US.

Big Sur is a perfect tourist destination with redwood forest and white-sand beaches and also known for its hiking trails. The number of tourists visiting Big Sur, which is one of the top 35 best tourist centres in the world, is equivalent to the number of people visiting the world-famous Yosemite National Park in California. The main attractions of Big Sur are McWay waterfalls, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and Point Sur Lighthouse, which is considered to be built in the 19th century. There are also ample facilities for travellers to camp in the area.
