Celebrities travel to Maldives, London as travel curbs ease

Travel lovers were probably the worst-affected section of people during the lockdown imposed in view of the global pandemic, being forced to remain indoors all the time. However, as lockdown has been lifted partially and restrictions on travel eased, many people - including celebrities - are now visiting their preferred destinations even while following COVID-19 protocols.

For instance, the Maldives has turned a place popular among stars belonging to Bollywood, Mollywood and Tollywood. A beach destination of amazing natural beauty, Maldives boasts of stunning ocean scenery and seaside areas with white sand. The country, which has some among the most beautiful beaches in the world, attracts lakhs of travellers every year.

Indian citizens can plan a hassle-free holiday to Maldives as visa-on-arrival facility is available and the expenses could be kept to reasonable limits. Moreover, the country offers a safe stay for visitors. Film stars from India regularly visit the island country and love to unwind among the coral reefs. The celebrities also share images from their trips on social media which often go viral.

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu is the latest celebrity to share her pictures from Maldives and she is seen enjoying herself on the stunning beaches. Taapsee travelled to Maldives along with her siblings. She has shared images of the picturesque beaches, luxurious resorts and golden sunsets from the islands. While sharing the photos on Instagram, Taapsee has written that she would never get tired of the trip.

Another celebrity who escaped to Maldives even as COVID-19 is yet to subside is Mandira Bedi. She says the 15-hour trip to the luxury resort of Soneva Fushi was totally worthwhile. Earlier, in March, actress Mouni Roy also holidayed in Maldives and her photos from the islands went viral on social media. Apart from the great scenery, Maldives attracts celebrities with its luxurious resorts which offer privacy.

Though most stars from India chose Maldives, actress Sonam Kapoor travelled to London along with her spouse Anand Ahuja. Sonam also shared images of the vacant streets of the city.

Taking advantage of the holidays caused by the pandemic and seeking to relieve their stress, other Bollywood superstars also made similar journeys to various parts of the world.
