South Indian diva Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a travel afficionado who packs her bags and sets out on trips whenever she is free. She has covered almost the whole of India and many places abroad, and often shares amazing pictures and details of the same with her online followers too.

Most recently, she has shared a handful of stunning pictures from her Kashmir trip. The photos were clicked at Sonamarg, a popular destination that is 70 kilometers away from Srinagar.

Kashmir is a haven of mesmerizing natural beauty that beckons travelers during any season. In summer, the snow melts revealing the spectacular beauty of the valleys that drape shades of green. Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam are the most popular tourist destinations in Kashmir.

While Kashmir is termed the ‘heaven on earth’, Gulmarg is named the valley of flowers that bloom in myriad hues. Gulmarg literally means ‘meadow of flowers’. Interestingly, this hill station offers the best skiing experience, too, in the country. This enchanting place has been the shooting location of many super hit movies as well.

Meanwhile, Sonamarg, which means ‘meadow of gold,’ is situated 2,740 metres above the sea level. During spring, the valley gets covered in golden hued crocus flowers. These fabulous views of nature are truly rare and travelers say this experience cannot be enjoyed anywhere else in the world. Besides, adventure lovers could enjoy trekking and hiking too in Sonamarg, which is the starting point of many prominent trekking routes. The place also offers a magnificent view of the Himalayas.
