Star couple Rima Kallingal and Aashiq Abu are enjoying a relaxing holiday in the serene beaches of Thailand and Cambodia. They have even made their fans happy by posting countless pictures from the trip on their social media handles. The pictures from the famed Railay Beach in Thailand are surreal. Interestingly, Thailand has lately been a favourite destination of many Malayali movie stars. Most people visit the beach destination of Krabi which is verdant and tropical like Kerala. Besides Krabi, the star couple has visited the Phi Phi Islands too.

Railay is a quaint island between the Krabi town and Ao Nang in Southern Thailand. This place is famous for its beautiful beaches and fabulous hills. Railay West and Ao Fra Nang are the main beaches here.

Phi Phi Islands

The Phi Phi Islands are an archipelago between Phuket and the straits of Malacca coast in Thailand. It is a group of six islands. Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh are the famous ones among them. Phi Phi Leh became incredibly popular after the Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Beach’ was filmed here in 2000. These islands are one of the most visited destinations in Thailand.

Phi Phi Islands are just 45 minutes away from Phuket in a speed boat. Meanwhile, from Krabi, you could reach here in under 90 minutes. Before Thailand, Rima had posted pictures from the famed Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia.

Floating village

The Tonle Sap lake is known as the floating village. This is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. The lake grows during the monsoon between June and October and becomes smaller between November and May. This compels the fishermen who depend on the lake for their livelihood to live in floating villages. Around 80,000 people live permanently in over 170 floating villages. Interestingly, Tonle Sap is one of the biggest inland fishing sources that produces more than 400,000 tonnes fish and feeds around 3 billion people. There are more than 220 varieties of fish in this lake.
