Actress Pooja Hegde's dreamy Budapest tour sparks envy: Pictures

'Monica' girl Pooja Hegde, whose next film 'Sri Sri' with Dulquer Salman is scheduled for next month, is currently on a dreamy European trip. She has been posting some breathtaking pictures from Hungary's capital, Budapest, for the past few days. The latest set of photos has her exploring historic sites like the Matthias Church, the town of Szentendre, the Hunyadi Courtyard, For Sale Pub, and more. Her followers have been complimenting her generously on how good she looks against the classic European backgrounds. What does Pooja get to do in these captivating landmarks?

A neo-gothic shrine
The Matthias Church, which Pooja has clicked a picture of, is one of Europe's most unique churches in terms of architecture. This church even has a museum featuring some historic stone carvings, relics and even certain royal jewels! Interestingly, in the past, the church was also the venue for the coronation of the country's kings. The church, which was built around 1015, even transformed into a mosque for around 140 years after the country was captured by the Ottoman Empire. 

A town of artists
Budapest's Szentendre, a riverside town along the Danube River, is known best as the 'Town of Painters,' as it has had an artists' colony since 1929. Today, more than 200 of them call it home, thanks to its provincial charm and vibrancy. Pooja Hegde has captured its 'Bercsenyi Street,' an extremely photogenic alley here that has many colourful umbrellas suspended in the air. The town also has some quirky museums with sculptures made of sugar, those on rural Hungarian life and more. 

An 'eccentric' pub
Pooja has clicked an amazing photograph from Budapest's 'For Sale Pub,' known for its rustic environment, handwritten notes across its walls, and business cards pinned by travellers on its beams. It also has a 'barn-like' feel, giving it a cosy vibe, complete with Hungarian food options. Hungary is reportedly in the midst of an extreme tourism boom, and last year, it welcomed over 20 million tourists. More than 38% of its tourists are welcomed by Budapest, known as the 'Spa Capital of Europe.'
