Star hotels beating the life out of COVID

Kochi is game for all things innovative. It’s now turned to food and fun to beat COVID blues. The place and the people have come up with the brightest ideas to brighten up life in these times of all pervading gloom.

It's the star hoteliers who’ve sprung up with some out of the box fixes. CAR-GO BITES or Inspired Kitchen seems to be one such brilliant idea. One can just drive into the grounds of a star hotel, park the vehicle, have a bite and then go. For those who have the time and the inclination there’s live music inside to rev up the rhythm.

This trendy outing for Kochiities was introduced by the Le Meridien hotel with its Container Kitchen and Sunset Cinema themes.

The concept, meant to bring back Kochi's fervour for food, is going great outside the main hotel in what looks like a wayside tea stall, a container to be precise. All that one needs for a filling snack like burger, sandwich, pizza or other signature stuff the hotel serves can be had here. And folks are simply driving in. Of course, the COVID protocol is very much in place. You can have your fill for anything between Rs 125 and Rs 375.

The best part of the deal is that one can lean back in one's vehicle, bite into the snacks and watch those favourite movies that play on a huge screen outside. The vast open space assures you of fresh air and the right mood. People drive in just for the joy of watching movies in the open. Food is also served in trays that can be hooked to the vehicles. Or you can step inside the container and have your snacks there

Here’s a trend that’s catching. After all, for anything new and catchy, can one find a better spot than Kochi?
