Ernakulam to flaunt a new attraction – Pearl of Kochi – from Thursday

Kochi: ‘Pearl of Kochi’, a new sculpture, will be unveiled at a public place in the city on Thursday. The unique creation, which welcomes travellers arriving in Ernakulam from Goshree Islands and though the Container Terminal Road, is located at Goshree Circle - the junction of Abraham Madamakkal Road, Goshree Road and Goshree-Chathiyath Road.

Installed by the Lourdes Hospital with permission from Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA), the sculpture will be inaugurated by Member of Parliament from Ernakulam Hibi Eden at 9.15 am on Thursday.

Incidentally, the inauguration would be taking place on International Nurses Day. The sculpture is a depiction of the earth being supported by the sails of a ship negotiating rough waters and is a tribute to nurses who offer a lifeline during every health crisis.
