Bekal

The age-old Bekal Fort in Kasaragod district is so exquisite that it could be described as poetry etched in red stones. The magnificent fort spread across 35 acres of land on the shores of the Arabian Sea was built in the 17th century. Many films were canned at Bekal Fort and its surroundings and the fortress is a perfect location for pre-marriage photo sessions.

Kumarakom is one of the rare places that can boast of verdant mangrove forest, swaying coconut groves and easy-on-the-eye paddy fields. As Kumarakom lies a few feet below sea level, it is known as Kerala’s Netherlands.

It is a unique place in Kerala where oranges and apples are harvested aplenty. The stunning charm of Kanthalloor is reflected in thatched houses, people carrying firewood on their heads, the winding roads, the flowering trees and winter vegetables such as cabbages and carrots.
