Head to Thusharagiri waterfalls to cool off in blazing summer

Tourists are flocking the iconic Thusharagiri waterfalls in Kozhikode to refresh their bodies and souls in the harsh summer. Families in huge numbers are visiting the waterfalls during the holidays.

Popular summer spot
The Thusharagiri waterfalls is at the Chalipuzha River which is a tributary of Iruvazhinji River that originates in Vellarimala mountains. The waterfall consists of Erattumukku, Mazhavillu and Thumbithullumpara waterfalls and many other smaller springs.

Even though the waterfalls have stopped as the water levels in the Chalipuzha River has decreased, tourists continue to visit this place. Many could be seen enjoying a cooling dip in the natural lake beneath the first waterfall.

Dense forest
The waterfalls are situated fifty three kilometres away from Kozhikode at Kodencherry. The mesmerizing beauty of nature is another factor that attracts the visitors. The dense forest, amazing flora and the chirping sound of the birds make the waterfall a scintillating paradise.

The forest department issues passes to the tourists to enter the forest area.

The five hundred year old Thannimuthassi tree is another attraction here. Meanwhile, the trekking through the dense forest is sure to excite the adventure seekers. Those who have visited the Thurhsaragiri waterfalls vouch for the mesmerizing experience that they have enjoyed here.
