Tourists can soon enjoy modern accommodation facilities at Lokarnavu centre

Vadakara: The construction works of the pilgrimage tourist center at Lokarnavu in Kozhikode, which holds a significant position in the pilgrimage tourism map of Northern Malabar region is progressing at a rapid pace. The authorities, in a recent assessment meeting, noted that around 95% of the works of the project, that is being constructed with modern facilities, on a budget of Rs 4.50 crore, have been completed. The brand new pilgrimage center can host up to fourteen families at a time.

There will be air-conditioned rooms, dormitories and bathroom facilities. Besides, a traditional kalari and a beautiful landscape with compound walls too have been arranged at the center. The ULCCS (Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society) would complete the works within seven months before the validity of the contract ends.

Meanwhile, the construction works of the project funded by KIIDC (Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited) via KIFB (Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board) for a budget of Rs 3.78 crore too has been almost completed. The construction of the dining area would be completed soon. The works of the kalari museum would begin soon. Meanwhile, the authorities decided to submit a project to dig a borewell in order to facilitate drinking water supply in Payamkuttimala.
