Thiruvananthapuram: Adventure tour enthusiasts, buckle up and get ready for the thrill ride of a lifetime. Kerala Tourism Minister Muhammad Riyas has announced that God’s own country is all set to host four international adventure tourism championships this year. The International Paragliding Festival, to be held at Vagamon from March 14 to 17, will see the participation of over 100 nationally and internationally renowned gliders. More than 15 countries have expressed willingness to be part of the country’s biggest aero sports adventure festival.

The next in line is the Surfing Festival to be held in Varkala in the Thiruvananthapuram district from March 29 to 31. The festival aims to make Varkala, gifted with its stunning cliffside views and pristine beaches, an internationally recognized surfing hotspot, Riyas said.

The ‘MTB Kerala 2024’, the international Mountain Cycling Championship, will be held from April 26 to 28 at Mananthavady in Wayanad. Also, the 10th edition of the Malabar River Festival, renowned for whitewater kayaking and other water-related sports, will be held from July 25 to 28, the minister said. Meanwhile, the Government will make necessary arrangements to ensure basic facilities for drivers, who arrive with the tourists, at the hotels, resorts, and homestays, Riyas added.
