IHCL’s ‘Scenic Hotel’ open in Munnar

Thodupuzha: The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which is the parent company of Tata Group’s Taj chain of luxury hotels, has opened its first hotel in Munnar. The premium hotel ‘Scenic Munnar’ was inaugurated on March 15 (Friday). ‘Scenic Munnar’ has been envisioned as part of IHCL’s SeleQtions category and it will be a quality addition to the Idukki district. The brand-new hotel is at Etty City near Chithirapuram in Anachal.

There are fifty-five rooms in this premium hotel, including villas with private pools. Meanwhile, the interiors have been designed in the theme of ‘neelakurinji’ flowers (strobilanthus kunthiana). ‘The Hub Kitchen’ restaurant which is open twenty-four hours, serves multiple cuisines. Meanwhile, the guests could also enjoy the ‘Tree Sky’ bar, spa, swimming pool and gymnasium. Besides, banquet hall facilities are available here.

Puneeth Chatwal, the Managing Director and CEO of the Indian Hotels Company Limited said that the ‘Scenic Hotel’ would surely boost the tourism scope of Munnar while introducing a new travel location for the tourists. IHCL operates hotels under seven different brands and categories including Taj, Palace, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger. The group has invested in around twenty hotels, including four that would be opened soon, at various locations in Kerala.
