'Shees Park' adds beauty to Khor Fakkan in Sharjah

Khor Fakkan, which is endowed with mesmerizing mountains and charming beaches, gets a new park with an artificial waterfall to the cheer of visitors to this beautiful place in Sharjah.

The 'Shees Park' spread across 11,362 sqm was thrown open to the public by supreme council member and ruler of Sharjah Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi. The park has an expansive play area, barbecue area, 32 covered seats and a theatre that can accommodate 70 people.

The Sharjah ruler also planted a fig sapling to inaugurate the eco-friendly programme whereby trees would be grown on mountains along the road leading to Khor Fakkan, and each mountain will be known after the trees grown there.

Sheikh Sultan also visited the historically-important Najd Al Maqsar village where the ancient human communities lived in Khor Fakkan. The village has 13 centuries-old houses and efforts are on to restore the age-old hamlet. A visit to the village will help one to know more about the traditional lifestyle of people.
