The bustling city of Noida in Uttar Pradesh will soon get a space for a wild escape through an upcoming deer park. The park is to be established in sector 91 and will have 132 deer of 10 species, and a sunset safari to the glee of animal lovers. Three species of deer will be brought from Africa, and others will be brought from zoos in Kanpur, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. The construction and related work will be carried out under the watchful eyes of a team helmed by a retired District Forest Officer. The effort will be to put in place the best and natural habitat for the deer.

The special lighting system at the park, which will be open till 10 pm, would help the visitors to spot the animals at night, but the lights won’t make the deer uncomfortable. Noida Authority CEO Dr Lokesh M informed that a detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared, and the tender process and construction activities would start once the DPR is ready. The deer park is coming up on 30 acres of New Okhla Industrial Development Authority land in Noida. These projects will provide a platform for city people to learn about animals.

The park will have space for deer not only from other zoos but also for those who have been rescued. Dr Lokesh said these kinds of deer parks could be found in Noida and Ghaziabad in the future. Expert opinion would be sought if the African deer finds it tough to adapt to the Indian climate and food, and the authorities concerned are engrossed in providing a natural habitat to the deer. The highlight of the Noida deer park is the sundown safari, which allows people to visit the park after a hard day’s work and spend some quality time with their families and friends.
