So, you have been slogging a year round for that family vacation, planning each minute detail, balancing your accounts and you are back home, a few rupees fewer, but full of memories of the good times you have had with your loved ones. Or you have just had an amazing weekend and hated every bit about getting back to work on Monday. But then, you cannot ignore the daily routine life; for that wins you the bread and butter. However, instead of feeling rejuvenated, you are depressed and frustrated for no reason at all. Your colleagues cannot understand why you are edgy after a nice long vacation and you are yourself wondering if something is wrong with you. There is. You are suffering from post vacation blues, and trust us, it is very real. It is even worse than Monday morning blues. Here are some of the things you can do to get over the post vacation blues. **Plan a smooth return** Just as you planned your itinerary for the tour, you have to plan your return too. You should make the transition smooth – from the vacation mode to your daily routine mode. Give yourself a couple of days at home, straightening things up, before getting back to work. **Write about it** Go ahead, talk to your friends about the wonderful vacation you had, they will listen to you a couple of times, and then get bored of you. Channel your energy into more creative pursuits. Put your photos up on your social media portals, watch the 'likes' and 'favourites' go up. Or you could get more creative and write about it, blog about your experience or if you are so bitten by the travel bug, join groups where people discuss travel. **A tourist in your own town** Who said you have to go to Mauritus or Bali for it to be a vacation? Take a walk around one of those by-lanes in your hometown that you have always wanted to explore. Or go on a long drive or a day trip. It will give you a sense of adventure – may be, if you are lucky, it will be more fun than one of those long vacations. **Start planning your next adventure** And if your finances are good, who is stopping you from planning for your next trip? Take time off to read up on destinations that may catch your fancy and plan methodically for the trip. You may have to save up on some of those monies if you are thinking of a long trip.
