Thrissur DTPC launches budget friendly tourism packages

Thrissur: Are you planning a trip with your family, but worried about the budget? The District Tourism Promotion Council offers vacation tour packages to Parampikkulam, Munnar, Wayanad, Muziris Heritage Site, Siruvani, Dhyanalinga, Pazhani, Thenmala, Kanoli and Rameswaram. DTPC’s packages are a wonderful opportunity to visit various tourism centers along with your family at reasonable expenditure. The package fees include breakfast, dinner and accommodation. The District Tourism Promotion Council has been running the tour packages for a year now. The direct supervision of the District Collector ensures that the safety of the packages and the facilities are excellent. For bookings call 0484-2320800 **Parampikkulam Wildlife Safari** Picture a journey through dense forests laced with encounters with spotted deer and peacock and a trek in the inner wild of Parampikkulam. You can see Parampikkulam and Thunakkadav dams. Also included in the package is a bamboo raft ride in Peruvarippallam. Dates: May 8, 14, 18. Cost Rs 1750 per head **Munnar Hill Tour** DTPC arranges a two day package tour to Munnar where the temperature hovers under 7 degrees Celsius. Accommodation, travel, food, entry fees and boating are included. Kundala dam, Mattuppetti dam, Top Station, Lockhart Plantation and Anayinangal dam are the main attractions. Dates May 28-29, Cost Rs 2350 per head **Wayanad Jungle Tour** It is a two day ride through Thamarassery mountain pass traversing Wayanad’s jungle, mountain and cave. It includes a visit to Kuruva Island, Pookkode Lake, Wayanad museum, Tholpetti jeep safari, Thirunelli temple and Banasurasagar dam. The boating in Pookode Lake and the jeep ride in Tholpetti will be unforgettable experiences. Date: May 21-22, Cost Rs 2999 per head **Muziris Heritage Tour** It is a daylong tour that takes in all the centers of the Muziris Heritage project. The DTPC has arranged a package including food, vehicle, tea and snacks in the tour which will be entertaining and informative for children and grownups alike. Date: May 7, cost Rs 875 per head **Siruvani, Dhyanalinga** Siruvani dam and waterfalls are among the major tourist attractions of Kerala. One reaches the Dhyanalinga temple under Isha Foundation after enjoying the splendor of Suruvani. After the holy dip in Chandrakund and Surykund there, one proceeds to attend the Nada worship at Lingabhairavi temple and the meditation at Dhyanalinga temple to complete the package. Date: May 10, cost Rs 1650 per head **Pazhani pilgrimage** DTPC facilitates a darshan of the golden chariot during the holidays via its Pazhani pilgrimage. The package takes care of special queue, lunch and dinner. All travelers will get prasad (offering) kits too. Date: May 31, cost Rs 1000 per head **Thenmala Ecosafari** Thenmala is India’s first ecotourism project. Thenmala’s Adventure Zone, Leisure Zone and Musical Fountain will be covered. Accommodation for those arriving under the DTPC package is being arranged by Eco tenders equipped with all facilities of Thenmala. One can also visit Palaruvi waterfalls, Punalur suspension bridge, deer park and children’s park. Date May 24-25, cost Rs 3390 per head **Backwater safari** A ride through Canoli backwaters, a godsend destination in Thrissur is bound to dispel all burdens of the summer heat. The package starts at 8 in the morning and covers Vilangankunnu a.k.a the oxygen reservoir of Thrissur, Guruvayoor Anakkotta with its nearly 60 elephants, a four hour boat ride including a sumptuous lunch in the boat and is topped off by watching the glorious sunset at Thalikkulam Snehatheeram Park before returning.
