Mattanur: The Kannur International Airport (KIAL) on Wednesday announced that the airport will be open for members of the public from Friday to October 12.

The visiting hours would be 10 am to 4pm and visitors will have to carry photo identity card to get entry permission, said KIAL executive director K P Jose.

He urged visitors to follow instructions from airport officials and CISF safety officers. And requested them not to litter the surroundings.

"Visitors can park their vehicles at the parking space in front of the airport. However, no food or beverages will be allowed inside the terminals," he added.

The airport will be functional from September 2019, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had announced in June.
