100 days of Royal ride for Maxwell
Maxwell (L), hailing from Ottapalam in Palakkad district, has undertaken 100 bike tours to various places from Goa to Marottichal in Thrissur district.

Thrissur: A passionate rider's heartbeats would always be in sync with the rhythmic sputtering sound of a Royal Enfield bullet motorbike. And that's exactly the reason why Maxwell Clifford was on his favourite bullet bike for close to 100 days in the last one year.

Maxwell, hailing from Ottapalam in Palakkad district, has undertaken 100 bike tours to various places from Goa to Marottichal in Thrissur district. The Royal Enfield company conducts a plethora of official rides every year keeping in mind the pulse of scores of zealous riders.

Maxwell is the Royal ride coordinator of the Pinnacle Royal Enfield, a dealer in Enfield motorbikes, at Puzhakal near here, and heading a 30-member team during the rides to different destinations.

Through Idukki's beauty

The first bike expedition organized by the Pinnacle Royal Enfield was to Idukki. The goal of the trip was simple. Just meander through the winding roads enjoying the sound of wind whispering through the trees and the blast of cold mountain air. Thirty enthusiasts rode almost all motorbikes, including Himalayan, the adventure touring motorcycle, and the powerful Continental GT, from the Royal Enfield stable on that trip.

The power of the iconic bikes was in full display during the motorcycle journey to Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu, and the team’s expedition to Goa last year was the longest.

“The crux is to enjoy the ride and not to over speed and get involved in an accident. Safety should be the highest priority. It is important to ride bikes within the speed limit by wearing helmets, jackets and other riding gear. And these safe rides could provide a treasure trove of memories,” said Maxwell.

Each Royal ride spreads the message of nature conservation and to respect Mother Nature. The riding team, under Maxwell, is kicking off 2019 with an expedition to Thanal Balashramam at Mayanur in Thrissur district on January 6.
