Kozhikode beckons adventure enthusiasts to enjoy paramotoring

Kozhikode: Sub collector V Vigneswari and assistant collector K S Anju celebrated women's day on March 8 by flying around in the clear blue skies. The women officials inaugurated the paramotoring event at the DTPC beach by volunteering for the first ride. The sub collector said that her flying experience, enjoying the serene beauty of the beach below, was amazing.

She added that it was almost like flying in an open air-plane. The sub collector even expressed her wish to try para motoring again. Both women stressed that there was nothing to be scared and that flying enthusiasts including women should make use of the opportunity. ADM E P Mercy, DTPC secretary C P Beena, and Thahaildar E Anithakumari also took part in the event.

Regular flying sessions will be conducted from next week until May 31, from 5 pm onwards, near the Lion's Club here. One can fly up to 300 ft high and glide around 2 km. A trained pilot would accompany the fliers. It costs Rs 3000 per head to enjoy the beautiful sceneries in the beach, flying up in the sky. The paraglider is brought here by the Aero Club of Calicut. Salim Hassan, the chief flying instructor at the Aero Club of Calicut said that the flying schedules would be decided after analysing the weather each day.
