A group of 15 enthusiastic youths will be organising Kottayam's first exclusive flea market 'Rubber Band' at the CMS College grounds on Saturday and Sunday with help from many volunteers. The event will begin at 4pm on both days.
Flea markets are known to combine street shopping with lots of fun and frolic and Rubber Band promises the same. More than 30 local entrepreneurs will be setting up stalls at the event that aims to join the cultures of Kottayam. Myriad food stalls are being set up to beckon the foodies of Kottayam. You'll be spoilt for choice with homemade foods like pickles, desserts, snacks and favourite items from popular food outlets in Kottayam.
This weekend, you'll be splurging on more than just food. Among other vendors are local artists who will be putting on display their works. You can also buy hand-crafted home decor items or handmade novelty bookmarks.
There is loads for fashionistas of the town, as well. Upcoming designers and popular boutiques will be putting their latest designs on sale. And it doesn't stop at clothes as you will also have unique jewellery to choose from.
For those looking for more than just run-of-the-mill shopping, you can expect lots of interactive fun activities and games.

'Muthuchippi Poloru' fame playback singer Sachin Warrier is set to perform on the second day of the market.
The event is hosted by a core group of 15 achievers from diverse walks of life, including media, finance, architecture, photography, automotive, marketing and more.
They aim to "utilise the team synergy towards creating a lively and memorable experience for all the stakeholders concerned".
Ticket fee
The entry fee is Rs 100 and tickets can be bought either at the spot or online.
