Get ready for the Happy Days shopping festival in Thrissur

Thrissur: The city is all set to host the grand Happy Days mega shopping festival that begins on Saturday. The month-long shopping extravaganza is expected to bring shopping enthusiasts from all over Kerala to Thrissur. The night time shopping festival would be held from 15th December to 15th January in association with the 42 associations including the Thrissur Chamber of Commerce, Kerala Merchants Chamber of Commerce and Thrissur cooperation.

These are some of the major attractions of the Happy Days shopping festival.

Around 10 colourfully lit canopies in the Swaraj Round would create amazing festive mood.

Cultural programs would be held every day in East Fort, West Fort and Shaktan Nagar. Special programs at Thekkinkadu on the day of inauguration.

Elaborate night shopping centres at East Fort, Shaktan Nagar, Poonkunnam, Kokkale, Vanchikulam, West Fort and Patturaikal. Besides, you could enjoy shopping at the centers in pocket roads like Kuruppam Road, College Road and Marar Road and also in the Swaraj Round.

Bus services that connect these centres are available till 11pm. The commuters can travel for free in the city busses that run special services at night.

The shops would be open till 11pm.

From marathons to mega margam kali, the organizers have arranged many exciting events.

Enjoy thrilling events like vintage car rally, roller skating, bike rally, pet show, flash mobs, painting competition, folk songs, fashion show, cultural events, football penalty shootout, mud race and band performance.

Those who come for the shopping festival can win exciting prizes including cars and bikes through coupons and lucky dip.

The bikers association would prepare a mega cake that is 3.5 meters long, on 15th January, the closing day of the night shopping festival.
