Ambalavayal: Poopoli 2020, the mega flower show that began on Tuesday would fill the city with sweet fragrances for the next 10 days. Visitors are expected to flock the Poopoli flower show venue at the Ambalavayal Agriculture Research Centre. Rows of beautiful flowers and plants paint the 10 acres of land in the research centre in myriad hues. Besides enjoying the beauty of the flowers, the visitors can indulge in many entertainment activities as well. Seminars and agricultural exhibitions too would be organized as part of the 'Poopoli 2020'.
Colourful spread
The gladiolus garden that are filled with white and yellow flowers, chendumalli or tagetes and vaadamalli (gomphrena globosa), fragrant dahlia, unique tulips that are brought form Kashmir and more than 1000 varieties of roses and orchids are some of the major attractions of the flower show. The visitors would be attracted to the vertical gardens made with colourful flowers as well.
2020 special sights
Rain garden, coracle garden, floating garden are gravel garden would be the unique sights of 2020. Besides, the visitors can hang out at the food court or take part in the cooking competitions or enjoy the pet show. There are more than 200 stalls by the government and nongovernmental organizations at the flower show. The entry fee for adults would be Rs 50 per head and Rs 30 for kids.
