ITB Berlin 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus spread

Coronavirus fear has led the organisers of world's biggest travel expo, the ITB travel trade fair in Berlin, to cancel the fair.

The travel fair was due to begin on March 4 and would have lasted 4 days with 1,60,000 visitors expected to attend based on registration data.

Germany currently has 60 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus COVID-19 and more than 10,000 people are quarantined.

Health Ministry of Germany said this week that Europe's biggest country was "at the beginning of a coronavirus epidemic."

The trade fair company that organises ITB could was not fully equipped to implement measures to examine all the prospective participants.
