Chennai: Students from Kerala should undergo a 10-day-quarantine on reaching Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.

The Coimbatore Corporation announced the new restriction in an order issued on Wednesday.

The decision was made following the formation of a Covid-19 cluster in a nursing college in Saravanappatta.

Even students who have taken both vaccine doses must undergo the compulsory 10 day quarantine in the college hostel.

The college authorities will impose a fine on the students in case of violation, the order stated.

A few students from Kerala had tested positive despite carrying all the required documents.
