Luxury cruise vessel Nefertiti to resume service after a lull
The Egyptian-themed luxury cruise vessel Nefertiti

The Egyptian-themed luxury cruise vessel Nefertiti, which had won the hearts of hundreds of travellers, is all set to resume service after a hiatus induced by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The sunset cruise will give you an opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Arabian Sea and relish the on-board world-class facilities.

Nefertiti marketing manager Karthik Menon has informed that the reservations had started as the first cruise of the season is on September 18. The opulent vessel of Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) is also running services on September 26 and October 2, and tickets for the trips should be pre-booked. The ticket rates for adults and children (between five and 10 years of age) are Rs 1,999 and Rs 499 respectively. Visit www.nefertiticruise.com or call 9744601234, 9846211144 for booking and more information. The cruise will be conducted adhering to COVID protocol and bookings for on-board conferences, wedding parties and get-togethers have also restarted. The earlier short voyages of Nefertiti were a big hit.

The vessel is named after Nefertiti, the powerful and beautiful queen of ancient Egypt. She was the wife of pharaoh Ankethan who ruled Egypt from 1370 to 1330 BC. History has it that Ankethan considered Nefertiti as his equal and named her co-regent. The royal couple was instrumental in creating the idea of ‘Athen, whereby the Sun is considered as god, and promoting Egyptian art. It is noteworthy that the fame of Nefertiti is spread across the world.

It was a great novelty for Keralites that a cruise vessel was modeled after an Egyptian theme and the passenger ship had exquisite designs and exemplary interiors that mirror the rich Egyptian heritage.

Delectable spread
The sweeping air conditioned restaurant on the ship serves mouthwatering Mediterranean dishes that can blow you away. The vessel also boasts of 3D theatre, lounge bar, open sun deck, children’s play room and banquet hall, among others.
