Nedumbassery: The Kochi International Airport, Kerala’s most popular airport, has resumed ‘Meet-and-greet’ services offering additional facilities as part of its efforts to become more passenger-friendly. With the civil aviation sector turning active again after the global pandemic-induced lockdown, the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has been introducing several new programmes to add to the comfort of travellers passing through the airport.

Under ‘Meet-and-greet’, elderly travellers, carrying women and young children would be given assistance for boarding as well as disembarking. The services are available at both the international and domestic terminals. At Kochi airport, the facility is arranged by an agency named Speedwings Air Services for CIAL and the service is titled ‘Primefly meet and greet.’ Travellers can book the services either at the kiosk in the airport or online.

‘Meet-and-greet’ involves three services; baggage assistance, check-in and check-out services and feel safe programme.

Similarly, air travellers arriving at Kochi airport from other destinations would be received at the terminal by ‘Meet-and-greet’ personnel and offered help for checking out. Departing passengers booking this service would be taken up to the security area after check-in. Similarly, arriving passengers would be assisted during check-out and accompanied with their baggage till the car. Fees are Rs 1,000 at the international terminal and Rs 750 at the domestic terminal.

Feel safe programme
Under this facility, travellers would be given special attention, assisted to complete all check-in or check-out formalities and accompanied by the agency representative up to boarding gate or car. In fact, the service is available from the car to the boarding gate for passengers departing from Kochi and from the boarding gate to the car for arriving passengers.
