New Delhi: No visas would be granted to foreign tourists who travel to India through land borders. The Central Government has decided to allow entry of foreign tourists from November 15 onwards. Meanwhile, the central tourism ministry announced that as per the new visa guidelines tourists can enter the country either through water routes or by flights.

India’s customized visa policy allows visas to applicants, depending upon their home country’s policy and treatment for Indian travelers. The travelers from those countries which insist quarantine for Indian travelers have to undergo strict quarantine here too.

The tourist visas allow single entry and are valid up to a month; whereas double entry was possible earlier. Tourists cannot enter India through the land borders at China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
