Agasthyarkoodam trekking, entry to Ponmudi eco-tourism centre banned amid Covid surge

Thiruvananthapuram: Restrictions have been tightened in the Thiruvananthapuram district in the wake of the surge in Covid infections and the spread of Omicron variant. The Agasthyarkoodam trekking and trips to Ponmudi eco-tourism centre in the district have been banned.

All bookings that were made online from Tuesday till February 26 have been cancelled, as per the orders of the Thiruvananthapuram District Collector. Entry to the Ponmudi eco-tourism centre has also been temporarily banned.

Arrangements have also been made to refund the amount online to those who had made the booking. There will be no offline booking either. Curbs have been tightened due of the spread of Covid.
