After Munnar success, KSRTC to launch tourism package for Nilambur from March 27

Malappuram: Following the overwhelming response to its Munnar tourism package, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced a ‘Nilambur teak land safari’ from March 27.

The trip, which is presently scheduled only on Sundays, will start from the Nilambur depot of the KSRTC at 9am and cover the nearby tourism attractions such as Conolly’s Plot, Bungalow Hill, Teak Museum and the waterfalls at Kozhippara and Kakkadampoil. The tour bus will later return to the same depot by 7pm.

The KSRTC will be charging Rs 610 per person for the tour, including entry fees at various destinations. However, travellers themselves will have to meet the expenses on food.

Nilambur is a favourite destination of domestic tourists. Travellers usually depend on private vehicles or taxis to explore the nearby destinations. The KSRTC hopes that the new safari would enable people reaching Nilambur in its buses to conveniently take a tour of the area.

Earlier, the Munnar package was launched by the public carrier which starts from the Munnar depot in the morning and returns to the same place in the evening after taking travellers to all the major attractions at the hill station. Subsequently, several other KSRTC depots introduced leisure trips, all of which became extremely popular.
