Thiruvananthapuram: A luxury helicopter is all set to give an impetus to the tourism activities of the RP Group. The Airbus H145 helicopter will conduct services, connecting the Raviz Hotels at Kovalam, Kollam and Kozhikode.

The helicopter will operate services for tourists, connecting The Raviz Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram, The Raviz Kadavu in Kozhikode and The Raviz Ashtamudi in Kollam.

The state-of-the-art helicopter was directly purchased from the German Airbus Company by RP Group chairman Dr B Ravi Pillai. This is the country's first Airbus H145.

The twin-engine helicopter, with five rotor blades, costs Rs 90 crore. The chopper, which can operate at an altitude of even 20,000 feet, is suitable for the climate of Kerala, vouches the pilot.

RP Group executive director Ganesh Ravi Pillai was onboard as the chopper took its inaugural flight from The Raviz Kovalam to The Raviz at Kollam the other day.
