KSRTC Palakkad announces budget tour to Kochi from April 17

Palakkad: After the successful completion of over 100 trips of its special budget tourism services, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Palakkad depot has announced a new tour package.

The summer holiday special Kochi tour will be conducted by the Budget Tourism Cell of KSRTC. The first trip – titled ‘Sagararani’ – will be to Kochi on April 17. After starting from Palakkad KSRTC stand, the bus would take travellers to Hill Palace, Tripunithura. Later, a two-hour boat trip is arranged on the backwaters, followed by a visit to Kochi.

The fare for the package is Rs 900 per person, excluding food. There are 100 seats available and bookings could be done by contacting the KSRTC directly or over phone number + 91 9947086128.

Landmark achievement for Palakkad depot

Since the first trip to Nelliyampathy on November 14 last year, the Palakkad KSRTC has conducted 112 services so far to various tourism destinations from Palakkad.

The places covered include those having cultural and historical importance as well as recreational spots such as Wonderla and Bolgatty. As many as 4,623 passengers have travelled on the 112 services, earning the public carrier revenue of Rs 19.09 lakh. The trips to Nelliyampathy, which take travellers close to nature, alone attracted 4,144 travellers. In addition, two schedules were arranged to Malakkappara, Wonderla on Women’s Day, a heritage tour to Kalpathy, a literary trip to Thasrak and a village tour. A package to Bolgatty in Kochi which included a voyage on ‘Nefertiti’, a four-star luxury vessel, was also popular.
