10 flights to Chennai diverted to Bengaluru due to rain

As it has been raining heavily in Chennai and its suburbs since Sunday night, 10 flights to the city are being diverted to Bengaluru.

According to reports, the diverted flights are from Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, London and Singapore. The rains also affected the time of departure of flights from Chennai to Delhi, Andaman, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt, Dubai and London. 

Chennai roads are also witnessing water logging and authorities have declared holiday for schools in five districts. 

Further rains and storms are reportedly expected in the coastal areas of the State for the next few days as well.  

From Tuesday to Thursday, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in various places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
