Palakkad: A few train services were cancelled or rescheduled due to heavy rains that lashed parts of southern Tamil Nadu. The service of Palaruvi Express running between Palakkad Junction and Tirunelveli Junction (train no: 16792) on Tuesday, December 19, at 4.05 pm from Palakkad Junction has been fully cancelled due to waterlogging in Tirunelveli Junction of Madurai Division, informed railway authorities.

Earlier today, the Palakkad Junction – Tiruchendur Express (train no: 16731) that commenced its journey at 6 am from Palakkad Junction was short-terminated at Dindigul Junction. The service was cancelled between Dindigul Junction and Tiruchendur. 

The Tiruchendur – Palakkad Junction Express (train no: 16732) journey that was scheduled earlier to begin from Tiruchendur at 12.20 pm has been rescheduled to depart from Dindigul Junction at 5.50 pm. The service of this train is cancelled between Tiruchendur and Dindigul Junction, informed Palakkad railway division authorities.
