PM Modi’s visit: Traffic regulations in TVM today and tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: Traffic regulations will be imposed in Thiruvananthapuram city from 7 am to 2 pm on Tuesday (February 27) and from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday given Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state capital. Restrictions have been imposed for vehicle movement along the stretch passing through the Domestic Terminal of TVM airport, Sanghumugham, All Saints, Kochuveli, Madahavapuram, South Thumba, and Poundukadavu. The stretches from All Saints Junction to Pulimoodu via Chakka, Petta, Pattoor, Asan Square, Palayam Rakthasakshi Mandapam, VJT, Spenser Junction, and Statue; and the stretches around the Secretariat and the Central Stadium from 5 am to 2 pm on Tuesday. No vehicle parking will be allowed on both sides of the above-mentioned stretches.

  • Vehicle restriction has also been imposed on the stretch from Domestic Terminal to Enchakkal passing through Sanghumukham, All Saints, and Chakka from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday (February 28). No parking will be allowed on both sides of the road.
  • No vehicles should be parked along the main roads or byroads on the stretches where the restrictions have been imposed. The vehicles found parked will be removed using recovery vehicles.
  • The passengers going to the airport should plan their journeys. Those proceeding to the Domestic airport should take the route via Venpalavattom, Chakka Flyover, Enchakkal, Kallummoodu, Ponnarapalam, and Valiyathura, while those going to International airport should proceed via Venpalavattom, Chakka flyover, Enchakkal, Ananthapuri Hospital, and then take the service road.
  • People coming to attend the public function to be held at Central Stadium should disembark from their vehicles at Panavila and Oottukuzhi. The vehicles should be then parked either at Attukal Temple ground or along the stretch from Enchakkal to Tiruvallam along the Kovalam Bypass.
  • Operating drones over the above-mentioned stretches is strictly prohibited on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 am to 6 pm.
