Railways revises regulations of trains; announces Holi special trains

Palakkad: The regulations of the train services to facilitate track maintenance works in various locations in the Thiruvananthapuram division have been revised. The railway authorities had earlier announced that the timing of various trains was changed to carry out the works. The authorities have now announced that these trains would run as per their respective normal schedules.

The Thrissur – Kannur Express (train no. 16609), Ernakulam Junction – Pune Superfast Express (train no. 22149), Ernakulam Junction – Kannur Express (train no. 16305), Gandhidham – Nagercoil Junction Express (train no. 16335) and Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction – Kollam Junction Express (train no. 22656) will run as per the normal schedule. The Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (train no. 16348), Madurai Junction – Thiruvananthapuram Central Amrita Express (train no. 16344) and Shoranur Junction - Thrissur Special Express (train no. 06461) will also run as per the normal schedule on March 16.

Changes in train timings
At the same time, to facilitate track maintenance works in various locations in the Salem Division, various train services have been short-terminated or their origin stations have been changed. The Shoranur Junction – Coimbatore Junction Special Express (train no. 06458) journey commencing on March 15, 18, 20, 25, 27 and 29 from Shoranur Junction will be short-terminated at Podanur Junction. The service of this train will be cancelled between Podanur Junction and Coimbatore Junction.

The Kannur – Coimbatore Junction Express (train no. 16608) journey commencing on March 15, 18 and 20 from Kannur will be short-terminated at Podanur Junction. The service of this train will be cancelled between Podanur Junction and Coimbatore Junction.

The Coimbatore Junction - Shoranur Junction Special Express (train no. 06459) journey commencing on March 15, 18, 20, 25, 27 and 29 from Coimbatore Junction will originate from Podanur Junction at its scheduled departure time of 4.41 pm. The service of this train will be cancelled between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur Junction. The Coimbatore Junction - Kannur Express journey (train no. 16607) commencing on March 15, 18 and 20 from Coimbatore Junction will originate from Podanur Junction at its scheduled departure time of 2.03 pm. The service of this train will be cancelled between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur Junction.

Special trains announced for Holi festival
To clear the extra rush during the Holi Festival, special trains will be operated between Kochuveli and Danapur, informed railway authorities. The Kochuveli – Danapur Weekly Express Special (train no. 06183) will leave Kochuveli at 4.15 am on March 19 and 26 and April 2, and will reach Danapur at 10 am on the third day. The Danapur - Kochuveli Weekly Express Special (train no. 06184) will leave Danapur at 10.25 pm on March 22 and 29 and April 5 to reach Kochuveli at 7.30 am on the fourth day. The trains will have 20 sleeper class coaches and two second class coaches (Divyangjan Friendly).
